AIS Business, a leading provider of digital infrastructure and intelligent technology for enterprises, together with Microsoft Thailand announced the launch of the “AI Ready for SMEs” initiative. Designed to comprehensively support Thai entrepreneurs, the project features specially tailored packages for SMEs, nationwide roadshows to improve solution accessibility, and the development of pre-built AI Agent Templates. The initiative also aims to empower and elevate Thailand’s SME sector, which comprises over 3.13 million enterprises—representing 99.6% of all businesses in the country. As the cornerstone of the nation’s economy, helping these businesses adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) securely, efficiently, and practically will enhance their long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.
Mr. Phupa Akavipat, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), spoke about this collaboration: “As Thailand’s National Digital Infrastructure provider, AIS is committed to elevating the capabilities of Thai businesses through our comprehensive digital network and services. This supports the transition into the digital and AI era, particularly for SMEs, which are vital engines of the Thai economy in terms of revenue generation, employment, and GDP. Previously, AIS Business has continuously developed solutions and forged partnerships to help Thai SMEs adapt and thrive amidst rapid technological shifts and intense competition.
This partnership between AIS Business and Microsoft represents another milestone, combining our intelligent network with world-class AI technology to deliver Smart Solutions for Thai SMEs. We aim to make AI accessible, practical, and highly effective for businesses of all sizes through dedicated SME packages. Furthermore, our upcoming workshops and enablement programs will provide practical, hands-on guidance to help SMEs successfully implement AI and build long-term competitive advantages.”
The “AI Ready for SMEs” initiative is driven by three core pillars designed to provide access to solutions, develop essential skills, and foster AI innovation for Thai SMEs:
owners with precise insights and recommendations to boost efficiency. Future plan include expanding templates to other functions like Human Resources (HR) and Finance, as well as developing specialized AI Agents for vertical industries, such as smart manufacturing, to continuously drive digital transformation.
Mr. Dhanawat Suthumpun, Managing Director, Microsoft Thailand and Emerging Markets, said: “SMEs are a vital foundation of Thailand’s economy and a key driver of the country’s growth. For many small businesses, digital transformation has been held back by limitations in skills, talent, and budget. In the age of AI, however, these barriers are being significantly reduced, enabling SMEs to adopt technology more easily, improve efficiency, lower costs, make smarter decisions, and achieve tangible growth. Competitive advantage is no longer defined by the size of an organization, but by how quickly it can adapt and turn technology into real impact. For Thai SMEs, AI presents a powerful opportunity to boost productivity, drive innovation, and unlock new avenues for growth. Microsoft believes our collaboration with AIS Business will help Thai entrepreneurs access the technology, skills, and support they need to turn potential into measurable outcomes and grow with confidence in this new era.”
Mr. Supree Thongpetch, President of the Thai Small and Medium Enterprises Council, said: “As a key organization driving the competitiveness and sustainable growth of Thai entrepreneurs, Thai SMEs Council recognizes the importance of integrating AI into SME business operations to improve efficiency, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen the country's economic foundation. The ‘AI Ready for SMEs’ initiative by AIS Business and Microsoft is a significant step forward. It allows SMEs to access and benefit from AI in a tangible, safe, and convenient way, supported by continuous skill development. This project helps bridge the technology gap, opens new business opportunities, and empowers Thai SMEs to compete on an international level.”
The “AI Ready for SMEs” initiative services and packages will be available from mid-June to September 2026. Interested SME entrepreneurs can find more details at www.ais.th/business/sme/sme-campaign/sme-ai-ready.
